Objective
Provide monthly direct financial assistance to women who are the head of their family in Karnataka, recognising their role in household management and improving their economic independence.
Eligibility Criteria
- Permanent resident of Karnataka
- Woman identified as the 'head of family' in the ration card (Antyodaya, BPL, or APL)
- Aadhaar card linked to bank account for DBT
- NOT eligible: Women who are income tax payers
- NOT eligible: Women whose husband is an income tax payer
- Government employees may have restrictions — check the official portal for current norms
- Age: No specific age restriction — the head of family in the ration card is eligible

Gruha Lakshmi Yojana — ₹2,000 a Month for Women Who Run the House
The woman who is the head of the household in a Karnataka ration card gets ₹2,000 every month from the state government. No complex application, no big criteria — if your name is listed as the head of family in your Antyodaya, BPL, or APL ration card, you qualify.
Gruha Lakshmi is part of Karnataka's Pancha Guarantees (five election promises that the Congress government delivered after coming to power in 2023). Over 1.3 crore women are registered and receiving the benefit as of 2026.

How to Apply
Online (Seva Sindhu Portal):
- Go to sevasindhu.karnataka.gov.in
- Click on "Apply For Services"
- Search "Gruha Lakshmi Scheme"
- Click "Application for Gruhalakshmi Scheme"
- Log in with your Aadhaar-linked mobile number
- Fill in details and upload your ration card, Aadhaar, and bank passbook
- Submit — track your application with the reference number given
Offline: Visit any of these centres with your original documents:
- Grama One (village level)
- Bangalore One / Karnataka One (urban)
- Bapuji Seva Kendra
- Nada Kacheri (Nadakacheri office)
