1What Is Rajasthan Aapki Beti Yojana?
Too many girls in Rajasthan drop out of school — not because they don't want to study, but because their families can't afford to keep them enrolled. The Aapki Beti Yojana is designed to make that decision a little easier for BPL families.
The scheme provides an annual scholarship to girl students from Below Poverty Line families who study in government schools. It's not a loan — the money doesn't need to be repaid. It's given to support the girl's education expenses year after year until she finishes Class 12.
2How Much Is the Scholarship?
| Class | Annual Scholarship |
|---|---|
| Class 1 to 8 | ₹2,100 |
| Class 9 to 12 | ₹2,500 |
These figures are based on the latest revision. Check rajshaladarpan.nic.in for the most current amounts, as the Rajasthan government periodically increases the scholarship.
3The Application Is Done Through Your School
You don't need to go to a government office or fill forms online. The process goes through your school:
- Tell your class teacher or school principal you want to apply
- School gives you the application form
- Fill with BPL card, Aadhaar, and bank account details
- Principal submits the data on rajshaladarpan.nic.in (Shala Darpan portal)
- After verification, scholarship is transferred to your bank account
Applications are typically collected at the start of the academic year. Don't miss this window — ask your school in April-May.
4Which Girls Qualify? Check These Points
- Must be enrolled in a government school — private school students cannot apply
- Must have a BPL ration card — the family must be below the poverty line as per state government records
- Girl must be studying in Rajasthan — scheme is state-specific
5Why This Matters
Studies show that a scholarship of even ₹2,000–2,500 per year significantly reduces the probability of a girl dropping out of school in low-income families — particularly in Class 9 and 10 when exam fees, books, and travel costs increase. Aapki Beti is designed specifically for this moment.
