Syllabus Focus Areas
General Awareness: India + Delhi-specific content. Delhi government schemes (Mukhyamantri Tirth Yatra, Rozgar Bazaar, e-District), GNCT governance structure, Delhi geography, recent Delhi news alongside national current affairs (last 12 months), Indian History, Constitution, Economy.
Reasoning: Puzzles, seating arrangement, coding-decoding, blood relations, syllogism, series, direction, matrix. DSSSB reasoning is moderate — not IBPS PO level, but not trivial either.
Numerical Ability: Class 10 standard. Percentage, profit/loss, ratio, time-work, time-speed, SI/CI, mensuration, DI (bar/pie/table). Calculator-free — practice mental calculation.
Subject-Specific (100 marks for technical posts): This is where the selection is really decided. For Junior Engineer (Civil): Structural Engineering, Soil Mechanics, RCC Design, Fluid Mechanics, Surveying. For Pharmacist: Pharmacology, Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Pharmaceutics. For Lab Technician: Haematology, Biochemistry, Microbiology lab procedures. Study from standard graduation-level material for your discipline.

Preparation Tips
- Subject-specific section is 50–60% of total marks for most technical posts. The GK, reasoning, and maths sections are largely the same across all DSSSB papers — but it's the subject section that decides your rank. Don't let generic preparation crowd out subject revision.
- Delhi current affairs is a real DSSSB theme. Questions about Delhi's ward system, GNCT administrative structure, Delhi CM's schemes, and MCD functioning appear regularly. Spend 30 minutes reading Delhi-specific news weekly in the 3 months before exam.
- Previous DSSSB papers are on the official site. Go to dsssb.delhi.gov.in → Old Question Papers. These are free and the most reliable study resource.
- Start typing practice early. If your post requires a typing test, 8 weeks of 15-minute daily practice sessions will comfortably get you above the qualifying speed. Mangal Inscript for Hindi is the standard — switch your keyboard layout now and start using it.
Common Questions
Do I need to be from Delhi to apply? No. There's no domicile requirement. But most posts are based in Delhi.
Is there an interview? No interview for any DSSSB post.
Can I apply for multiple post codes? Yes — submit separate applications for each post code you're eligible for.
What if I pass the CBT but fail the typing test? You won't be selected. The typing test is a hard qualifying gate.
The exam schedule shows June 2026 for other post codes — when is 03/2026 scheduled? The June 2026 exam dates are for previously advertised post codes. The 03/2026 exam will be scheduled after the application window closes on 15 July 2026.
