How to Apply
Frequently Asked Questions
| Can a student in Class 10 apply for PM YASHASVI? | No. The scheme currently covers Class 9 and Class 11 students. Once selected in Class 9, the scholarship is renewed in Class 10 on promotion. |
| Is the PM YASHASVI scholarship given through a written entrance test? | No — the YASHASVI Entrance Test (YET) has been officially discontinued. For 2026, selection is entirely marks-based: students are shortlisted based on their marks in the previous class examination (Class 8 for Class 9 applicants, Class 10 for Class 11 applicants), combined with income and category verification. There is no written test to appear for. |
| How much is the scholarship amount? | ₹75,000 per year if you are in Class 9-10, and ₹1,25,000 per year if you are in Class 11-12. |
| What happens if my marks are exactly 60%? | 60% is the minimum required — exactly 60% qualifies. Students who scored 59% or below in their previous class exam do not qualify, and there is no relaxation on the marks criteria. |
