Objective

PM YASHASVI (Young Achievers Scholarship Award Scheme for Vibrant India) provides financial support to meritorious OBC, EBC, and DNT students in Class 9 and Class 11 so they can continue their school education without financial burden.


Eligibility Criteria

  • Students studying in Class 9 or Class 11 in a government or private school
  • Must belong to OBC (Other Backward Class), EBC (Economically Backward Class), or DNT (Denotified Tribes) category
  • Annual family income must be less than ₹2.5 lakh per year
  • Must have scored minimum 60% marks in the previous class examination
  • Must be an Indian citizen with domicile in India

How to Apply

Frequently Asked Questions

Can a student in Class 10 apply for PM YASHASVI?No. The scheme currently covers Class 9 and Class 11 students. Once selected in Class 9, the scholarship is renewed in Class 10 on promotion.
Is the PM YASHASVI scholarship given through a written entrance test?No — the YASHASVI Entrance Test (YET) has been officially discontinued. For 2026, selection is entirely marks-based: students are shortlisted based on their marks in the previous class examination (Class 8 for Class 9 applicants, Class 10 for Class 11 applicants), combined with income and category verification. There is no written test to appear for.
How much is the scholarship amount?₹75,000 per year if you are in Class 9-10, and ₹1,25,000 per year if you are in Class 11-12.

6What Happens After You Apply?
