Indian Navy Agniveer 2026 — Complete Guide
The Indian Navy recruits sailors under the Agnipath Scheme through two entries — Agniveer (SSR) for 10+2 qualified candidates and Agniveer (MR) for 10th pass candidates. Both men and women can apply. If selected, you serve as a sailor in the Indian Navy for 4 years — getting real sea training, Navy salary, and a structured exit package.
The 2026 batch applications closed on April 6, 2026. The SSR written exam was held on May 13, 2026 and the MR exam on May 14–15, 2026.
Two Entries Under Navy Agniveer

Both entries are open to Male and Female Indian citizens. SSR is the more competitive and prestigious of the two.
Eligibility
Age: 17½ to 21 years. Both male and female candidates eligible.
Agniveer SSR Qualification: 10+2 pass (or appearing) with:
- Mathematics and Physics as compulsory subjects
- Plus at least one of: Chemistry, Biology, or Computer Science
- From any Board of School Education recognised by the Ministry of Education
Agniveer MR Qualification: 10th class pass from a recognised board. No specific subject requirement.
Marital Status: Must be unmarried. Agniveers cannot marry during the entire 4-year service period.

Training
Selected Agniveers undergo:
- Basic Training at INS Chilka, Odisha — 14 to 16 weeks of naval basic training
- Professional Training at various Naval Training Establishments based on trade allotted
During training, you live in a naval base, follow naval discipline, and are paid your full monthly package from Day 1.
