Preparation Strategy
Prelims (Bihar GK is key): BPSC Prelims has consistent 20–30 questions on Bihar — history (ancient, medieval, modern), Bihar economy, schemes launched by Bihar government, census data for Bihar, rivers, districts. This is your differentiator — most UP/Delhi-based preparation material skips this.
GS Paper I — History is the heaviest topic: Ancient India (Mauryan Empire, Buddhism), Medieval India (Bhakti-Sufi, Mughal administration), Modern India (Bihar's role in freedom movement — Champaran, Quit India), and post-independence (Panchsheel, Non-Alignment).
GS Paper II — Science & Technology: Focus on agriculture and rural development science since Bihar is agricultural. Also prepare: space science, biotechnology, IT-related current affairs.
Optional Subject: Choose based on your graduation subject — familiarity reduces preparation time significantly. History, Geography, and Political Science are the most popular choices and have abundant resources.
Hindi Paper (Qualifying): You need only 30/100 to pass. Don't over-prepare. Essay and comprehension are the question types — spend 2 weeks on this, maximum.
