SNAP 2026 — Complete Guide
SNAP — the Symbiosis National Aptitude Test — is one of the most student-friendly MBA entrance exams in India. Unlike CAT or XAT where you get one shot, SNAP gives you three exam dates and counts your best score. On top of that, the exam is only 60 minutes long and the level of difficulty is more manageable. If you want an MBA from a top Symbiosis institute without going through the pressure of CAT, SNAP is your exam.
Registration closes on November 20, 2026 and the exam is conducted on December 6, December 14, and December 20, 2026. All three slots are held at the same difficulty level and your best percentile is used for institute shortlisting.

Eligibility
Graduation in any discipline with at least 50% marks (45% for SC/ST candidates). Students in their final year of graduation are also eligible to apply. There is no age limit.
Once you have your SNAP score, you apply separately to each Symbiosis institute you want to be considered for. Each institute has its own cutoff and conducts a GE-PI-WAT (Group Exercise, Personal Interview, Written Ability Test) round before finalising admission.
Exam Pattern
The exam is 60 minutes long with 60 questions — compact and to the point.
| Section | Questions | Marks |
|---|---|---|
| General English | 15 | 15 |
| Analytical & Logical Reasoning | 25 | 25 |
| Quantitative, DI & Data Sufficiency | 20 | 20 |
| Total | 60 | 60 |
All questions: +1 for correct, -0.25 for wrong. SNAP discontinued the separate "Special Questions" category from 2022 onwards. All 60 questions carry uniform marking — no separate high-value questions.
The Logical Reasoning section carries the most marks (25 out of 60) and is the differentiator in SNAP. A strong performance here is what separates the top percentilers from the rest.
Three Attempts — Strategy Matters
Appearing in all three slots is allowed but not mandatory. Most serious candidates appear in at least two slots. The fee is separate for each slot (around ₹1,750 per slot). If you do well in Slot 1, you can skip the others to save the fee. But if your score isn't great, Slot 2 or 3 gives you a second and third chance.
Your highest percentile from all the slots you attempt is used for shortlisting.
What to Study
General English: Reading comprehension passages (2–3 per paper), vocabulary in context, grammar-based questions, verbal reasoning. The passages are shorter than CAT RCs — focus on speed.
Analytical & Logical Reasoning: Seating arrangements, linear/circular, blood relations, input-output, syllogisms, statement-conclusion, cause-effect, critical reasoning. This is the heaviest section — spend the most time here.
Quantitative Aptitude & DI: Arithmetic (percentage, profit/loss, time/work, averages), number system, algebra, data interpretation sets (tables and bar charts). Level is similar to Class 12 plus basic DI.
SNAP Percentile Cutoffs (Approximate)
| Institute | Approximate Cutoff |
|---|---|
| SIBM Pune | 98+ percentile |
| SCMHRD | 96+ percentile |
| SIIB | 92+ percentile |
| SIBM Bengaluru | 88–90+ percentile |
| SIOM, SCIT, SITM | 80–85+ percentile |
Application Fee
SNAP registration: around ₹1,750 per test slot. Each Symbiosis institute registration: around ₹1,000 per institute. So if you attempt all 3 slots and apply to 5 institutes, the total fee could be around ₹10,000–₹11,000.
