Common Questions

I'm 35 and haven't studied past Class 10. Can I still enroll? Yes. PMKVY accepts candidates aged 15–45 with no minimum education requirement for most courses.

Will completing PMKVY training guarantee me a job? Not guaranteed, but training centres provide placement support and connect trainees with job fairs. The certificate improves your chances — especially for sectors like construction, logistics, IT support, and retail where formal certification is increasingly expected.

I already work as a plumber but have no certificate. Can PMKVY help? Yes — through the RPL (Recognition of Prior Learning) pathway. You'll do a short assessment + orientation and get a nationally recognised certificate without retraining.

Is the ₹8,000 stipend paid monthly? No — the ₹8,000 is a one-time completion incentive paid as a lump sum after you successfully complete training and pass the certification assessment. Training itself is free.

Can I do PMKVY training while working? Some centres offer flexible timing, and blended/online options are available in PMKVY 4.0. Check with your nearest training centre.
